Innis & Gunn, Oak Aged Beer, Scotland

Name - Innis & Gunn Oak Aged Beer
Type - Light Ale
Vol. 6.6%, 330mL crown sealed bottle
Brewer - Innis & Gunn
Origin - Edinburgh, Scotland
Importer - Australian Trade Partners, Underwood, QLD
Verdict - What happens when you put beer in a whisky barrel for 77 days? Well, you get a beer that tastes like whisky, or, more precisely, oak. The label blethers on about vanilla and toffee, and sure, they're there, but the overriding taste is of oak. Pours well and has a nice, light head, but primarily worth drinking for the experience. Unsurprsingly, the brewers came across it by mistake.
